with Walt Disney World, Sea World, and Discovery Cove.
Nature's Place Therapy, a non-profit, outpatient clinic nestled within a farm-like setting in the Four Corners, Fla., area announces its innovative summer therapy programs that include partnerships with Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness, Sea World, and Discovery Cove.
"On Sat., May 31, from approximately 8:30 AM to 12:00. we began our spectacular program in the natural setting at Disney's Fort Wilderness," Deborah Adams, director of Nature's Place Therapy said. "We then will continue visiting one of the attractions of our partners on subsequent Saturdays through July 31"
At Fort Wilderness, the clients will interact with the animals and the various settings in the petting farm, the Disney horse barn, the marina, and the beach area. . More than 60 people, comprised of clients and therapists, will be participating in this joint effort. The therapists will be working one-on-one which will stress use of the five senses—sound, touch, smell, taste, and feel.
The clients of Nature's Place will be in direct contact with marine and land animal-assistants at both Fort Wilderness and at Sea World. In addition, att Sea World, an educational presenter will help guide the visits that will include hands-on tasks and activities with marine animals to assist in the therapy.
In the near future, Nature's Place will be participating in a dolphin swim session at Discovery Cove. "This will be an incredible experience for our clients when they can see, touch, hear, and swim with the dolphins," Adams said.
"We are excited and thankful that our gracious partners are willing to cooperate with us in helping those who have difficulties," she noted. "It will be a summer to remember!"
Nature's Place Therapy services clients living in Florida's Lake, Polk, Orange, and Osceola counties. Treatments are provided regardless of payment capabilities. It utilizes traditional treatment techniques, along with natural modalities such as horticulture, music, animals, and the environment.
